Mobile phone mugger caught after answering owner’s call!
December 22nd, 2009 - 5:32 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )London, December 22 (ANI): A former international billiards player has been found guilty of stealing a mobile phone after he answered a call and gave the owner his name and address.
Lincoln Crown Court said that Peter Gamblin let the mobile phone user know his personal details in an ‘act of bravado.’
Later, the former England under-16 billiard champion denied the theft, claiming he was at his sister’s house.
But, Judge Ebrahim Mooncey with the rest of the jury took just 25 minutes to convict him.
‘The jury have found you guilty of a robbery and that sort of crime usually means a custodial sentence,’ the Telegraph quoted Mooncey as saying.
Gamblin has been granted bail for the preparation of a probation report.
He has been warned to expect custody when he is sentenced in the New Year.
Gambling had played international level billiards until 2003. (ANI)
