Islamabad, Nov 13 (IANS) Militants Sunday blew up two government schools in Pakistan’s northwest tribal region. There was, however, no loss of life, Geo News reported.
A girls’ school was destroyed in Shewa Adda area of Swabi, and a boys’ school in Rojba area of Nowshera, both in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The Taliban have banned female education in the northwestern regions. In the past several years, Taliban have destroyed hundreds of schools.
Media reports say more than 40,000 girls have been deprived of education in the region.
