Michigan State University Defeats University Of Northern Iowa

St. Louis, March 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Sweet Sixteen did not turn out to be sweet for the University of Northern Iowa team who had earlier in the NCAA tournament put forward some brilliant games. On Friday University of Northern Iowa team lost the game to Michigan State University team and bowed out of the tournament. However, they put their best efforts on Friday to win the game but lagged behind by just seven marks. Michigan State University won the game with a lead of 59-52.
Korie Lucious played a vital role in the game and helped the Michigan State University team towards the win. Korie Lucious had in the previous game too maintained the lead and this time he seemed determined to make it to the Elite Eight. He contributed 10 valuable points to his team while his teammate Durrell Summers scored 19 points for the team. Just few minutes before the end of the game the Michigan State University was leading with 53-51 and as the clock ticked the excitement increased. With only two points behind, UNI was trying to do its best to get the lead. However, at the end the game went in favor of Michigan State University. On the UNI side Adam Koch added 13 points which however at the end proved not enough to secure the game in their favor.
The game win leads the Michigan State University team to the Elite Eight where they will face team Tennessee. On the part of the UNI team this NCAA basketball 2010 will always remain in their memory as it is for the first time that the team was able to make it to the Sweet Sixteen.
