Michelle Obama’s ‘gaudy’ red dress at UN
September 24th, 2009 - 2:11 pm ICT by ANINew York, Sept 24 (ANI): She’s known for her style sense and taking risk when it comes to fashion, but Michelle Obama’s plans apparently went a little haywire when she appeared in a gaudy red number at the UN.
On Wednesday morning, the US first lady was the lady in red as she watched her husband’s speech at the UN, the Huffington Post reports.
However, her shimmery skirt suit, which had one her signature bows at the neck, was not that flattering, keeping in mind her previous show-stealers.
Once the speech ended, Mrs. Obama joined spouses of Heads of State and Government for a closed press lunch hosted by Mrs. Ban Soon-taek, wife of United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
Meanwhile, Michelle recently landed on People’s best-dressed list.
Mrs. Obama told People “I don’t consider myself a fashionista,” which is why the magazine named her “Best Accessible Style,” celebrating the fact that “she’s made a signature style out of sleeveless sheaths and shown an uncanny knack for mixing high and low - wearing everything from Gap and J.Crew to Michael Kors and Narciso Rodriguez.” (ANI)
