Washington, Jan.18 (ANI): Incoming US First Lady Michelle Obama, it seems, harboured concerns and fears about her husband Barack entering politics in the United States.
According to The Times, the Obamas had been married for only four years, and they were young, childless, ambitious and in love.
At that time, the United States 44th President to be said: She is at once completely familiar to me, so I can be myself and she knows me very well. I trust her completely, but at the same time she is also a mystery to me.
Obama says he was about to embark on a political career in Illinois and Michelle was concerned.
There is a little tension with that. Im very wary of politics. I think hes too much of a good guy for the kind of brutality, the skepticism, Michelle was quoted as saying then.
According to The Times, those same fears haunted Michelle during the presidential campaign.
When you are involved in politics, your life is an open book, and people can come in who dont necessarily have good intent. Im pretty private and like to surround myself with people that I trust and love, Michelle said.
Obamas words about Michelle 13 years ago may still hold true.
Michelle is a tremendously strong person, he said, but . . . in her eyes you can see a trace of vulnerability. When shes walking through the world she is this tall, beautiful, confident woman. There is a part of her that is vulnerable and young and sometimes frightened. (ANI)
