Washington, Apr 23(ANI): Tea Party movement supporter Michele Bachmann’s son, Lucas, has said no to posing naked for Playgirl, but he is saying yes to the idea that his mom could be the US president.

Bachmann has seen his mother win a Minnesota Senate seat in 2000, get elected to Congress in 2006 and make a huge burst on the national political stage.

“I wouldn’t be surprised. I think I’ve been surprised enough already,” the New York Daily News quoted Bachmann, as saying.

“I think she’s trying to figure out where she would fit in and whether or not she’ll be the best for the job. If she has decided, she certainly hasn’t told me,” he added.

Lucas further said that it is painful for him to watch his mother get clobbered in the press over political gaffes.

Bachmann was recently criticized for saying America’s Founding Fathers ended slavery and misplaced a Revolutionary War event in New Hampshire, rather than Massachusetts,

“There are some people more interested in skewering her for the sake of skewering her. There isn’t a person in the public eye who isn’t unfairly scrutinized. That’s part of the game,” the 28-year-old said.

Earlier, Playgirl spokesman Daniel Nardicio had said that the publication had sought Lucas for his studly appearance and even “sexier” political ties.

“I’m reaching out to Lucas because when I researched him I was struck by how absolutely adorable he is. Plus, I think his political ties make him even sexier,” Nardicio had said.

However, the University of Connecticut psychiatry resident shot down the invitation.

“As you can certainly understand. One must have a certain degree of anonymity when treating patients in the mental health community,” Lucas had written to Playgirl. (ANI)
