MIC Chief Palanivel urges party leadership to win back Indians’ hearts and minds
December 19th, 2010 - 6:20 pm ICT by ANIKuala Lumpur, Dec 19 (ANI): Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) President G. Palanivel has urged the party leadership and its members to work hard towards winning back the hearts and minds of the Indian community.
“We must continue with our work to mobilise the Indian votes. It would be a grave mistake to assume that the Indian votes are returning to Barisan Nasional and slow down our campaign work,” The Star quoted Palanivel, as saying.
Palanivel, who assumed the MIC top post on December 6, said it might be a ploy by the opposition to claim that Indians were now supporting Barisan.
He further said it is important that the leadership must be united and be able to strategise measures to regain back the support of the Indian community to Barisan, and added that youths can play a vital role in establishing a closer relationship with the Indian electorate in their respective areas.
