Meredith Kercher’s Murder Convict Amanda Knox Continues To Claim her Innocence

Amanda KnoxDec 09, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Amanda Knox trial is evoking diverse reactions from various quarters since the 22 year old American student received a jail term of 26 years for brutally murdering her roommate Meredith Kercher in 2007. Although, the family of the victim have expressed their satisfaction over the verdict, Amanda Knox’s parents continue to assert her innocence and emphasize that they would be fighting against the false implication of their innocent daughter.

Her parents have also implied that the verdict has left Amanda Knox devastated, who is now even more determined to clear herself of the murder charges. The trail also convicted her former boyfriend, 25 year old Raffaele Sollecito, who has been given a sentence of 25 years. Another accomplice in the crime, Rudy Guede, is serving a sentence of 30 years.

At the same time, certain sources are claiming that various questions are being raised about the fairness of the trial that was held in an Italian court. Reportedly, the trail has also become a bone of contention between Italy and U.S., as a senator in Amanda Knox’s home state has supposedly questioned the authenticity of the trial. Moreover, speculations are also running high, as according to certain reports- Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is also keeping track of the proceedings of the trial.

Meanwhile, with the aim of gathering support for their daughter, Amanda Knox’s parents have appeared in a number of interviews- where they are reiterating their claim that their daughter has been falsely implicated by the Italian court. Her parents have also claimed that Amanda Knox is a victim of character assassination and has been described as just another ‘college going girl’.
