Meet the Chinese man who has eaten over 1000 light bulbs in 40yrs!
July 23rd, 2010 - 6:05 pm ICT by ANILondon, July 23 (ANI): A Chinese, man who is addicted to eating light bulbs, has eaten more than 1000 light bulbs since he first ate it as a dare.
Wang, 52, has even made a career out of eating the bulbs.
Till now his glass eating habit hasn’t resulted in any serious health side effects.
Eating light bulbs cost Wang his marriage. His family members have asked doctors near his home in Sichuan Province to help before the situation gets out of hand.
Doctors kept Wang under observation where he ate 18 light bulbs in the two weeks with no visible side effects.
Wang said he that he usually eats about 25 light bulbs a month and gets nervous and edgy if he can’t get his regular dose.
“It’s probably like withdrawal symptoms that any addict gets I suppose. I remember eating my first light bulb when I was 12. I did it as a dare with my friends and actually had quite a nice feeling afterwards. It was very satisfying,” The Sun quoted Wang as saying.
“If I don’t eat one for several days, I get very nervous. The light bulbs taste best with porridge, but they are also quite nice with bread. I would recommend it to anybody, although I must admit I haven’t heard of anybody trying any of my recipes yet,” he added.
Doctors fear that continuing to eat light bulbs may cause serious harm to Wang in the future. (ANI)
