Meet the Brit man paid to scoff 2lb of sweets a day!
November 16th, 2010 - 5:53 pm ICT by ANILondon, Nov 16 (ANI): A British man has what many would consider the best job in the world - he is paid to scoff 2lb of sweets a day.
Angus Kennedy edits the confectionery trade’s longest-running and most respected magazine and it is his duty is to review at least 200 products every month.
“I refuse to write about anything unless I’ve tasted it first,” the Daily Mail quoted him as saying.
“After all, people want to know what it’s like to roll a toffee around your tongue,” Kennedy added.
And Angus takes his job very seriously. When visiting a trade show, he can eat 2lb of chocolate in a single day -that’s roughly 20 bars of Dairy Milk or 25 Creme Eggs.
But annoyingly he’s as thin as a chocolate-covered matchstick - and surprisingly dishy to boot.
“It’s unfair, but I’ve always been thin,” he said.
“I go to the gym twice a week and used to row for England, so I know how long it takes to burn calories. Four small chocolate bars is about 20?minutes on the running machine, while a small biscuit can take seven minutes of hard rowing,” he said.
He admits some of his staff have acquired much larger girths than when they started. What’s more, some have even left because they’re fed up with eating chocolate.
His monthly magazine is more than 120 years old and is sent to 5,000 subscribers worldwide.
It has been in the family for 40 years. Angus has been involved since he was ten, after his father died from cancer and his mother had to take over the business. (ANI)
