Market gutted in Kabul
January 24th, 2011 - 9:41 pm ICT by IANSKabul, Jan 24 (IANS) A massive fire engulfed a market in the Afghanistan capital city Monday evening, and turned to ashes goods worth around $4 million, a media report said.The market in downtown Kabul caught fire around 5.30 p.m., a shopkeeper told Xinhua.
Fire fighters arrived at the site and were able to extinguish the blaze within an hour. The cause of the incident has not yet been known.
Another shopkeeper, Mohammad Aman, said saleable goods worth about $4 million got burnt.
