Margaret Thatcher admitted to hospital after suffering a fallJune 12th, 2009 - 5:45 pm ICT by ANI
London, June 12 (ANI): Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher was admitted to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital this morning after suffering a fall at her London residence.
Doctors are carrying out x-rays after Thatcher (83) suffered a painful injury to her upper arm. She was badly shaken.
Baroness Thatcher, who is an early riser, was at her home in Belgravia with some friends when she lost her footing and fell.
“You know Lady Thatcher. She was busy at home when she fell. In the process she injured her upper arm. She has gone into hospital for tests. We don’t know yet how serious it is,” the Telegraph quoted a Thatcher aide, as saying.
In the last few years, she has suffered a series of small strokes, which have affected her memory.
Last year she was taken to hospital after a health scare at the House of Lords. Baroness Thatcher fainted as she was leaving after a dinner and was kept in hospital overnight. (ANI)
