Singapore, Nov 21 (ANI): The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, met his Malaysian counterpart, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, here on Wednesday on the sidelines of the 6th ASEAN Summit.
During the meeting, both leaders reviewed the progress of negotiations on the India-ASEAN Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and agreed to accelerate efforts to conclude them by March 2008.
Dr. Singh welcomed the participation of Malaysian companies in India particularly in infrastructure development.
Both sides also agreed to increase bilateral trade and economic cooperation as well as investment in each others country.
The Malaysian Prime Minister invited Dr. Singh to visit Malaysia.
The leaders looked forward to meeting once again during the forthcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) Summit in Kampala. (ANI)
