Manmohan Singh arrives in Toronto for G-20 summit

Toronto, June 26(ANI): Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh arrived in the Canadian city of Toronto at 10 15 a.m. local time Saturday, where he will spend the next two days participating in the fourth Group of Twenty Summit.
Dr. Singh, his wife, Gurharan Kaur and the Indian delegation accompanying him were received at the Lester B. Pearson Airport here by officials of the protocol department of the Canadian Government and India’s High Commissioner to Canada Shashishekhar Madhukar Gavai, besides others.
Four personnel of the Canadian Mounted Police (CMP) marched up to Air India One with the flags of Canada and India to welcome the Indian Prime Minister and officials accompanying him.
Dr. Singh has a hectic schedule ahead of him. This afternoon, he will have bilateral meetings with British Prime Minister David Cameroon and French President Nicholas Sarkozy.
This will be followed by a ceremonial welcome for G-20 leaders.
On Sunday, Dr. Singh will take part in the plenary sessions of the G-20 and other related activities. He will also have bilateral meetings with US President Barack Obama and Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan.
He also expected to visit the memorial set up for victims of the June 1985 Air India crash, where he will lay a wreath.
The Indian delegation will leave Toronto on Monday for Frankfurt en-route to New Delhi. (ANI)
