Manchester United win Champions League for the third time

Moscow, May 22 (DPA) Manchester United Wednesday won the Champions League for the third time in their history as they beat Premiership rivals Chelsea 6-5 in a penalty shoot-out. The game ended 1-1 after extra time. Portuguese international Ronaldo gave Manchester United the lead in the 26th minute, but Frank Lampard equalized in first half injury time.

Chelsea ended the game with ten men after Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba was sent off four minutes from the end for a slap in the face of Nemanja Vidic.
