Man jailed for failing to return library books
September 7th, 2011 - 9:05 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Sep 7 (IANS) A man in the US has been jailed after failing to return library books worth 500 pounds (about $800), a media report said Wednesday.
Christopher Anspach, 28, took out 27 books from his local library but did not bring them back despite repeated phone calls and written reminders, The Sun reported.
Officials at the library in Newton, Iowa, eventually called the cops. Fast food worker Anspach was given a 10-day sentence plus a 416 pounds fine by a district court. He is serving his sentence at Jasper County Jail, the newspaper said.
