Man gets death for killing Iranian N-scientist
August 29th, 2011 - 4:00 am ICT by IANSTehran, Aug 29 (IANS) A man accused of killing an Iranian nuclear physicist in 2010 was Sunday sentenced to death, a media report said.
Massoud Ali-Mohammadi, a professor of Tehran University, was killed in a blast near his home in Tehran in January 2010.
Ali Jamali-Fashi was sentenced to death after he confessed his role in the assassination plot during a trial Aug 23, Xinhua reported quoting the Mehr news agency.
Iran has accused Israel of killing its nuclear physicist. The West suspects Iran’s nuclear programme may be meant for producing weapons. Tehran says it is only for peaceful use.
