Man climbing up frozen waterfall falls to death
December 28th, 2010 - 5:44 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Dec 28 (IANS) A man climbing up a frozen waterfall in Britain fell to his death, a media report said Tuesday.The climber fell about 80 feet, Daily Express reported.
Police called out mountain rescuers at 11 a.m. Dec 26 after the man fell while ice climbing with a companion at Cautley Spout, in the Howgill Fells, near Kirkby Stephen, Cumbria.
A paramedic was winched down from an air ambulance but failed to resuscitate him.
“We have no criticisms. Sadly, accidents happen,” Mountain rescue leader Arthur Littlefair was quoted as saying.
