Beijing, June 20 (IANS) A man was beaten by fellow male passengers inside a metro train in Chinese metropolis Shanghai after he allegedly exposed himself and sexually harassed a young woman passenger.

Police arrested the man at the crowded Zhenping station during rush hour, the Shanghai Daily reported Wednesday. Both the suspect and the female victim were in their 20s.

A witness said the man unzipped his trousers and leaned toward a young woman standing in front of him. The man tried to escape from the train but was stopped by the woman and a group of male passengers.

The other passengers kicked the man in his private parts as he lay on the ground. The man burst into tears, and was later taken away by police.

This was the third metro train harassment suspect detained by police in one week.

Last week, police caught a man who was accused of ejaculating on a woman in a crowded metro train, and another man for using his cell phone to take pictures under a woman’s skirt.
