Malaysian Police confirms sex video featuring top politician as genuine
April 2nd, 2011 - 1:41 pm ICT by ANIKuala Lumpur, Apr.2 (ANI): Malaysian Inspector-General of Police Ismail Omar has said experts have confirmed that the sex video clip featuring top opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim has not been doctored.
The Datuk T trio businessman Shazryl Eskay Abdullah, Perkasa treasurer-general Shuaib Lazim and former Malacca Chief Minister Abdul Rahim Tamby Chik had exposed the 22-minute sex video at Carcosa Seri Negara, on March 21.
The video features Ibrahim having sex with a foreign woman believed to be a prostitute.
Omar said that the experts had handed over the full report on the video confirming it was genuine.
The investigation concerning the issue is in its final stage and the police are expected to hand over the report to the Attorney General soon for further action.
Ismail said that the police had recorded statements from all the parties involved in the screening of the sex video in the course of the investigation.
“We called in everyone to have their statements recorded, including media representatives who watched the sex video,” the Star quoted him as saying.
More than 20 media representatives had been called to view the much talked-about video.
Ibrahim had earlier lodged an FIR at the Dang Wangi police station in Kuala Lumpur, denying that he was the man in the video. (ANI)
