June 8th, 2010 - 3:27 pm ICT by ANIKuala Lumpur, June 8 (ANI): Indian exhibitors will showcase their wares at the week-long second edition of the Penang International Shopping Festival 2010.
Around 120 exhibitors from Kashmir, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Maharastra, Orissa, Punjab, Gujarat and Kerala, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are participating in the event.
The festival will celebrate Indian culture and arts and includes folk dances, and other such performances apart from providing a forum of artistic interaction and exchange.
According to the New Strait Times, it will facilitate greater inter-community concordance in Malaysia, which has a sizeable Indian-origin population.
A rich array of Indian products will be on display including handicrafts, textiles, jewellery, sarees, Punjabi suits, women’s fashion accessories, leather items, packed foods as well as spices and condiments.
The participants are enthused about the opportunity to showcase their products in Malaysia, like Sukesh Gupta who said, “I have selected some special jewellery particularly for women to wear at dinner functions. They are all reasonably priced.” (ANI)
