Mohan had said that some of the programmes or serial dramas sourced from private television stations in South India were also unsuitable for Malaysian viewers.
He said the violence and obscenity in Tamil films was a bad influence on many youngsters, adding that a channel for locally-produced programmes would give the opportunity for locals to showcase their talents and help them receive acclaim.
The newspaper also hoped Astro would look into helping local artists to become trained as professionals, The Star reports. (ANI)
