Earthquake in JapanThere was an earthquake at Ryuku Islands, Japan with a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter scale.

The earthquake occurred on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at 00:39:29 UTC ( Coordinated Universal Time) and Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at 07:39:29 AM at epicenter local time as reported by the U.S. Geological Survey.

The epicenter is 305 km (190 miles) SSW of Kagoshima, Kyushu, Japan, 370 km (230 miles) SSW of Miyazaki, Kyushu, Japan, 370 km (230 miles) NNE of Naha, Okinawa, Japan, 1200 km (750 miles) SW of TOKYO, Japan with the depth of 33 km (20.5 miles).

Two months ago, there was an earthquake at Ryuku Islands measuring 5.1 Richter scale with the distance of 250 km (155 miles) S of Kagoshima, Kyushu, Japan,
305 km (190 miles) SSW of Miyazaki, Kyushu, Japan, 385 km (240 miles) S of Nagasaki, Kyushu, Japan, 1125 km (700 miles) SW of TOKYO, Japan.
