Magnificent Hindu Temple to open in Texas in June
April 24th, 2011 - 6:06 pm ICT by ANINevada (US), April 24 (ANI): A majestic Hindu Temple, currently under construction in The Woodlands (Texas, USA), will reportedly open in June next.Ganesha, Balaji, Shiva, Lakshmi and Radha-Krishna will be enshrined in this Hindu Temple of The Woodlands, whose tagline is “A center for culture and devotion”. This 8.35 acre Temple claims to preserve “the ancient spiritual and cultural heritage of India in a contemporary setting” and will have yagna facilities, classroom and library space, a large lobby and a kitchen.Meanwhile, distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, applauded efforts of Temple management and The Woodlands and surrounding area community for this upcoming wonderful Hindu temple complex.Rajan Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, further said that it was important to pass on Hindu spirituality, concepts and traditions to coming generations amidst so many distractions in the consumerist society and hoped that this new temple would help in this direction. Zed stressed that instead of running after materialism; we should focus on inner search and realization of self and work towards achieving moksh (liberation), which was the goal of Hinduism.Hindu Temple of The Woodlands plans to offer comprehensive puja (worship) services of various deities; celebrations of various festivals; presentations/discussions on Eastern philosophy/Vedanta; weekly classes on Indian languages, arts and scriptures; health care; counseling; etc. Currently, it is conducting fortnightly scripture class. Shashi Bellur is the Board Chairperson while Nimish Dhuldhoya is Executive Committee President.The Woodlands is a master-planned community within the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown metropolitan area of Texas which has won a Special Award for Excellence from the Urban Land Institute.
