Barack Obama Washington, Apr 26 (ANI): Majority of Americans disapprove of President Barack Obama’s management of the Afghanistan war, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

The poll covering 1,001 adults, showed 49 percent of respondents said they disapprove of Obama’s management of the war and 44 percent voiced approval.

Earlier, in January, the findings were opposite with 49 percent approving of Obama’s handling of the Afghanistan war and 41 percent disapproving it.

The change in public opinion comes at the start of the annual fighting season in Afghanistan, a period that U.S. military commanders have warned will probably be more intense than previous ones.

The poll also showed that 53 percent of self-identified independents, who were an essential part of the coalition that elected Obama in 2008, disapprove of his handling of the war.

The recent poll findings reflect the public’s broader concern over the nearly decade-old conflict. (ANI)
