Loud explosions rock East London
February 22nd, 2009 - 1:53 am ICT by adminLoud explosions have rocked east London and smoke is rising above the skyline, according to Sky TV.
Initial reports say that the explosion may be at a recycling center, however this is not confirmed yet.
Eyewitness say that they can see smoke rising at East London. So far, there are no reports of any casualties.
East London is the name commonly given to the north eastern part of London, England on the north side of the River Thames.
The London boroughs that make up this informal area are Barking & Dagenham, Hackney, Havering, Newham, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest. The total area of this group of boroughs is 318.64 km² and the total population in 2004 was 1.5 million.
