Lily Allen talks about miscarriage, says it was a nasty timeJanuary 19th, 2009 - 1:36 pm ICT by IANS
London, Jan 19 (IANS) British singer Lily Allen has spoken out for the first time about her miscarriage and revealed she was in psychiatric care for three weeks before she lost her baby a year ago. Allen also spoke about the treatment and the pain she underwent and called the place she went for treatment a “nuthouse”, reports mirror.co.uk.
She said: “I was really depressed and I’d kind of lost the plot a bit. It was quite a nasty time. But it was quite nice being in there. No one could get to me. No one knew I was there.”
She also believes that her romance with Chemical brothers member Ed Simons would have succeeded if not for the miscarriage.
Allen still hopes to have children.
She added: “I want to take them to school and make breakfast and pack lunches.” Allen recently broke up with her much older boyfriend Jay Jopling.
But she is still waiting for the sculpture he commissioned of her.
She said: “I might have to wait until Jay’s got over things - then we can have a conversation. Maybe then he’ll organise it as I’m really keen… A Marc Quinn sculpture of me would be cool.”
Allen split from the 45-year old Jopling because of her busy schedule. She is set to go on tour soon. Allen spent time with Jopling on a luxury Caribbean holiday in St Barts while they were involved, reports contactmusic.com.
