Jan 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Winning a lottery worth a staggering 5.5million might seem to be the ultimate dream come true for many. Factory worker Lawrence Candlish, might have felt the same way back in the year 1997 when he took home the prize money worth 5.5million after winning the National Lottery. Although many might presume that since then, Lawrence Candlish did not have to look back as life must have been a bed of roses, things turned out to be rather shocking for him as the 36-year-old is now back in England after blowing off the entire amount!

After winning the whopping prize money, Lawrence Candlish settled with his family at Spain’s Costa Blanca in a bid to give his life a new direction. However, despite his astounding bank balance and luxurious life, fate had other things planned for him. Since his lottery win, the 36-year-old had to endure a number of tragedies with his best friend passing away followed by the death of his father under unusual circumstances in the year 2009. The factory worker and his family also had to face the tragedy of losing their luxurious mansion Tyneside after few thugs set it on fire.

Lawrence Cavendish was left with no other option but to return to his home in England almost penniless after his lavish villa in Spain was seized by the bank for his inability to pay his debts. When the 36-year-old returned to England, he is reported to have been so broke that he even had to borrow the taxi fare.
