Koran protests resume in Afghanistan’s Kandahar province

Kandahar (Afghanistan), Apr. 3 (ANI): The burning of a copy of the Koran in the United States has led hundreds of people to take to the streets of Afghanistan’s Kandahar province on Sunday to protest against it.

Sunday’s protests came a day after ten people died during similar demonstrations in the southern Afghan city.According to a Bangkok Post report, the deaths on Saturday came amid intense anger over the burning of a copy of the Koran by a Florida pastor in the United States.

Over 80 other people, including security forces were injured, according to the authorities. (ANI)
