Koirala says will speak on government’s current status at first CA meetingMay 23rd, 2008 - 2:16 pm ICT by admin
Kathmandu, May 23 (ANI): Nepal Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has said that he will clarify the status of the current Government at the Constituent Assembly (CA) meeting on May 28.
Nepalnews quoted Koirala, as saying that in response to a proposal of the Maoist Ministers during a cabinet meeting he must clarify the exact status of the Government — whether it’s a caretaker Government with very limited rights, and if he was preparing to hand over the reins of power to a new government right away.
The Maoist ministers in their proposal also asked the cabinet not to take important decisions concerning economic and administrative matters.
Meanwhile, the Government has promulgated an ordinance on the procedures of the CA meeting and the swearing-in of Assembly members. (ANI)
