In a one-hour long meeting with the envoys on Wednesday morning, Koirala told them that he would review the implementation of the agreements reached with the Maoists and the implementation of the assurances given by the government to various groups.

European envoys asked Koirala to end the current deadlock and guarantee the holding of Constituent Assembly elections to shorten the transitional period. They also suggested that Koirala Government should be more serious about the management of People’s Liberation Army cantonments and implement the recommendations made by the Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Nepal.

The envoys also reportedly drew Koirala’s attention on the unimproved security situation in across the country, especially in the Terai. (ANI)
