Kiwi man swears by bird poop after winning $100K
March 23rd, 2011 - 6:08 pm ICT by ANIWellington, Mar 23 (ANI): A man in New Zealand has sworn that bird poop does bring good luck, after he won 100,000 dollars on an Instant Kiwi ticket after one pooped on his head.
The Bay of Islands man said when a bird recently pooped on his head, his friends told him it was a sign of luck coming his way.
“I thought it was a load of rubbish, but when I was in a Lotto shop I had 5 dollars left in my wallet so thought I would buy a scratchie and test my luck,” Stuff.co.nz quoted him as telling NZ Lotteries.
“I could not believe it when I scratched the right numbers and realised I had won 100,000 dollars.
“It is such a great feeling. I plan to start a new life with this win. I want to wipe my debts and just enjoy life,” he stated.
The man, who is originally from Christchurch, plans to move back down there, undeterred by the recent earthquake.
“This win gives me the funds to be able to get down there and be able to help out in any way I can in the city’s rebuild,” he added. (ANI)
