Kayani gets Spain’s highest military honour
September 16th, 2011 - 12:16 pm ICT by IANSIslamabad, Sep 16 (IANS) Pakistan Army chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has been conferred Spain’s highest military honour, it was reported here Friday.
During a visit to Spain, General Kayani held meetings with Spanish Defence Minister Carme Chacon and other top military officials.
Associated Press of Pakistan said the meetings focused on bilateral defence and military relations and other matters of mutual interest.
The general was conferred ‘The Grand Cross of Military Merit’ on behalf of the King of Spain. The award was recognition of Pakistan Army’s contribution in the fight against terrorism.
