London, Mar 22 (ANI): The parents of bride-to-be Kate Middleton are said to have gone and taken a look at a substantial manor house that is up for sale and which had belonged to Camilla Parker Bowles.
Carole and Michael Middleton went to view the 5 million pounds Bolehyde Manor, which Camilla had stayed in during her affair with Prince Charles.
The couple, who for more than 20 years have been living in a commuter village not far from Reading, have a 1 million pound house where they brought up their three children and where Prince William has often stayed.
The detached, red brick five-bedroom house is also the base for their successful mail-order party planning business.
Bolehyde Manor, a 14th-century pile near Chippenham, Wiltshire, is the home of the Earl and Countess Cairns, who bought the place from the Duchess of Cornwall 25 years ago.
It has 11 bedrooms, three cottages, 70 acres of parkland with tennis courts, swimming pool and a pear orchard, not to mention manicured gardens with yew hedges carved into animal shapes, and a benign resident ghost.
Former airhostess Carole and her husband, ex-British Airways aircraft dispatcher Michael, paid a quiet visit to the house, which is being sold privately, in December.
“Talk about keeping it in the family, Camilla was rather amused to hear that the Middleton’s had been to look round her old home,” the Daily Mail quoted a source as saying. (ANI)
