Kate Middleton’s dashed Scotland wedding dreams

London, April 11(ANI): Prince William’s beloved Kate Middleton may have to forego her desire of getting married in Scotland, as British constitution states that future king and queen must get married in England.
Apparently, Scotland is special to Middleton as it was where she met Williams while studying at St Andrews University.
“Officials at Buckingham Palace have been under huge pressure from Kate to try to persuade the Queen to agree to a Scottish wedding,” the Daily Express quoted a source as saying.
The insider added: “Scotland will always have a special place in Kate’s heart because that is where she met William and where they spent so many happy years together at St Andrews University.”
Seemingly, Middleton wants avoid comparisons with the spectacular wedding of Charles and Diana at St Paul’s Cathedral in July 1981.
The source added: “Kate is adamant that she does not want to get married in London, especially not at St Paul’s Cathedral because of the previous associations with Charles and Diana.
“Nor does she want to marry in Westminster Abbey because there have been so many royal and state funerals there.”
Middleton reportedly wants to walk down the aisle at St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh, using the Queen’s official Scottish residence at Holyrood Palace as a base.
However, it is unlikely that William, who will become head of the Church of England, will be permitted to marry in the 900-year-old cathedral, which is regarded as the home of the Church of Scotland. (ANI)
