Julia Gillard’s partner was charged with DUI in 2003
August 1st, 2010 - 5:17 pm ICT by ANIMelbourne, Aug 1 (ANI): Julia Gillard’s partner was four times over the legal limit when he smashed his car while drunk several years ago in Queensland, according to court documents.
Court records show that Tim Mathieson was charged on May 16, 2003, with driving under the influence at Simpsons Rd, Elanora, on the Gold Coast, reports the Daily Telegraph.
He was taken to the Palm Beach police station and recorded a reading of 0.211 per cent - four times the legal limit.
Mathieson fronted Coolangatta Magistrates’ Court on June 5, 2003, where he pleaded guilty to the charge, was fined 1500 dollars and banned from driving for 16 months.
When questioned about his drink-driving past in 2007, Mathieson said the crash happened about 2001, that he had hit a fence and was banned from driving for about eight months. (ANI)
