Joshna to clash with Deepika in Vietnam Open semis

Hanoi (Vietnam), March 19 (IANS) Joshna Chinappa and Deepika Pallikal will face each other in the semifinal of the $8,000 Vietnam Open Squash tournament here after upsetting Denmark’s Line Hansen and Hong Kong’s Elise Ng respectively in the quarterfinals. Joshna, seeded fifth, defeated second seed Hansen 10-9, 9-7, 7-9, 9-7 in 62 minutes, while sixth seed Deepika sweated it out for more than an hour to beat third seed Elise 7-9, 9-1,9-1, 7-9, 10-8.
In the other quarterfinal, top seed Kiwi Louise Crome thrashed seventh seed Josefa Bertilsson of Sweden 9-3, 9-0, 9-1. She will now take on fourth seed Donna Urquhart of Australia, who outplayed unseeded Japanese girl Misaki Kobayashi 9-0, 9-0, 9-2.
