JFK inauguration was held 50 years ago, today

JFK Inauguration Washington DC, Jan 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The 35th President of the United States, John Fitzgerald Kennedy was sworn into office about 50 years ago today.

The day is a special day not because the speech that President Kennedy gave is widely considered as the best inaugural speech in the history of the United States but President Kennedy also has special place in the hearts of Americans.

Kennedy, who is one of the American presidents to be killed while still at the presidency is highly respected in America. Many Americans believe that he was the hope of that time and he was trusted to bring some crucial changes to America then.

During the speech, the president made several remarkable statements that day. Most of the lines became famous quotes but the one that stands out tall among all that is, “Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country.”
