Jet Airways flight carrying Canadian CWG athletes makes emergency stop
October 1st, 2010 - 6:28 pm ICT by ANIToronto, Oct 1 (ANI): A Jet Airways flight bound for New Delhi travelling with several Canadian athletes and officials scheduled to compete at the 2010 Commonwealth Games was forced to return to make an emergency stop when a passenger became ill.
The Jet flight left Toronto on Thursday and was headed for Brussels, Belgium, and had flown close to four hours before diverting to Gander, Nfld. The plane stayed in Gander for a little over two hours before resuming its journey.
The passenger was attended to on board and the decision was made to return to Gander, where medical officials took her off the plane, The Globe and Mail reports.
Among the passengers were about 30 Canadian athletes including members of the squash team, badminton players, weight lifters and some track and field athletes. (ANI)
