London, Dec 17 (ANI): Lady Annabel Goldsmith may reveal whether or not Diana, Princess of Wales, was set to marry her beau Dodi Al Fayed when she testifies at the ongoing inquest into the royals death.

Lady Annabel is socialite and heiress Jemima Khans mother, and was a close confidante of Dianas.

Diana is said to have discussed matrimony with her just a day before the fatal car crash in Paris, reports the Telegraph.

During the conversation, she is reported to have told Lady Annabel: “Annabel, I need marriage like a rash on the face.”

This was in reply to Lady Annabels query about whether Diana was likely to do anything silly like getting married after seeing photographs of her and Dodi together in the south of France splashed across newspapers.

Lady Annabels testimony will be in contrast to letters written by Diana to Dodi that were disclosed for the first time at the inquest last week.

In one letter, which began with the words “Darling Dodi”, Diana thanked her beau for “bringing such joy into this chick’s life”.

The letters were released by Dodis father, Mohamed Fayed, who insists the couple were the victims of an establishment plot because not only was Diana pregnant at the time of the crash, but that the two were soon going to announce their engagement.

The princess’s family and friends have dismissed any suggestion of an engagement. (ANI)
