Adare (Ireland), May 15 (IANS) Jeev Milkha Singh set the course ablaze with his first round flawless six-under 66 to take early lead in the Irish Open here Thursday. The Indian professional, who has twice been thwarted at the doorstep of victory on the Asian leg of the European Tour had four birdies and an eagle as he shared the early lead with Richard Green (66). Both Green and Jeev played from the tenth.
Johan Edfors of Sweden was behind them in sole third with four-under 68 in the morning session. Shiv Kapur, another Indian, shot a late bogey and ended with an even par 72.
Jeev started on the tenth and had a sedate start with five pars in a row before finding birdies on 15th and 16th to turn in two-under. A birdie on first was followed by another on fifth as Jeev went four-under. With two par fives on seventh and ninth, Jeev landed a brilliant eagle on par-5 seventh and finished at six-under 66 for the day.
Kapur birdied both par-fives on front nine on seventh and ninth and then added one more on 13th but dropped shots on second, 12th and 17th saw him fall back to even par.
