Jean-Paul Sartre was turned off by Simone de Beauvoir’s sex drive
July 20th, 2009 - 3:22 pm ICT by ANINew York, July 20 (ANI): Late French existentialist Jean-Paul Sartre was said to have been turned off by late French writer and philosopher Simone de Beauvoir’s voracious sex drive.
Sartre, who had a lifelong affair with Beauvoir, was perplexed with the demands.
“Sartre was be wildered by the sexual demands made of him, which he found impossible to meet,” the New York Post quoted Carole Seymour-Jones as saying in “A Dangerous Liaison”, which is out in September.
“I was reasonably well equipped . . . and I often made love, but without very great pleasure,” she quoted Sartre as lamenting.
“Just a little pleasure at the end, but pretty feeble. I should have been quite happy in bed with a naked woman, caressing and kissing her, but without going as far as the sexual act,” she concluded. (ANI)
