Japan seizes Chinese fishing boat
December 20th, 2011 - 7:05 pm ICT by IANSBeijing, Dec 20 (IANS) Japanese coast guards have seized a Chinese fishing boat for illegally entering its territory, a media report said Tuesday.
The vessel with 11 people on board was seized Tuesday off the Goto islands in southwestern Nagasaki Prefecture, the China Daily reported.
Li Wenliang, the Chinese consul general in Nagasaki, said the coast guards have taken the captain of the boat to their office in Nagasaki. Ten other crewmembers are expected to reach the city Wednesday.
Li has urged the Japanese authorities to ensure safety of the fishermen.
