Jan 21 is the most miserable day of the year!January 21st, 2008 - 5:48 pm ICT by admin
London, Jan 21 (ANI): If youre already down in the dumps, then today is most definitely not going to be your day, especially as Jan 21 has officially been declared the Most Miserable Day Of The Year.
According to researchers at Cardiff University, post-Christmas blues, failure to keep New Year’s resolutions, debts and bad weather all combine to make the Monday of the last full week in January a day no one should look forward to.
Worst-hit by the gloom surrounding them will be the ones who suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder, a condition brought on by a lack of sunlight.
Thats the reason you should not be in a hurry to get up in the morning, for experts say that waking up naturally is one of the best ways to feel better.
“Waking up to a regular alarm clock can be such a shock to the system. Up to 85 per cent of Seasonal Affective Disorder cases can be improved by using light therapy that wakes you naturally and promotes that ‘get up and go’ feeling,” the Mirror quoted light therapy expert Carol Barksfield, as saying.
Human behaviour specialist Mike Finnigan urges positive thinking to get through the day.
“Smile at everyone, give up your seat on the bus or do something small that will make someone’s day,” he said. (ANI)
