London, Oct 28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The sleek 1964 Aston Martin DB5, which was driven by Sir Sean Connery while he edged the character of James Bond, went on auction on Wednesday for 2.9 million pounds in London. Expectations had been skyrocketing about the price at which the silver sports car would be sold with many hoping that the vehicle would break the five-million-dollar barrier but at the end it fell short of the estimated amount and was ultimately sold for $4 million.
Following the auction, a statement was issued by auctioneers RM Auctions which confirmed that the new owner of the one-of-its-kind 1964 sports utility car was American businessman Harry Yeaggy. Although experts have reiterated that the Aston Martin DB5 was sold at a lower amount than expected, a spokesperson of RM Auctions emphasized that the sale price indeed was a lot of money and there is no reason to believe that anyone would be disappointed with it. Meanwhile, an ecstatic Harry Yeaggy later said thorough a statement that owning the car was something that he always wanted as this is the most famous car across the world. The American businessman also revealed his plans of putting the Aston Martin DB5 on display at his private car museum in Ohio.
