‘I’ve still got a lot to learn’ says Morgan
July 30th, 2010 - 3:03 pm ICT by ANITrent Bridge (Nottingham, UK), July 30 (ANI): England middle-order batsman Eoin Morgan says that he still has a lot to learn in silencing most doubters with a stunning maiden Test century in only his third match.
Morgan scored an unbeaten 125 on the first day of the first Test against Pakistan here, helping his team to a formidable total of 331 for four at the close.
“It is extremely satisfying to score a Test hundred in only my third game. It is a massive moment for me and my career highlight to date, undoubtedly. But while I feel I have answered some questions, I don’t feel I know what Test cricket is all about yet - far from it. I have lots of improvement to make,” The Sun quoted Morgan, as saying.
After coming to the crease with England in trouble at 118-4, Morgan and Paul Collingwood took stock before slowly upping the pace after lunch with a barrage of boundaries, sharing a partnership of 213.
Morgan reached three figures with a huge straight six, which he admitted was a particularly sweet moment.
“It was not pre-planned,” he said, smiling. “I was just glad when he threw it up to me .” (ANI)
