London, Jan 28 (IANS) Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney spoke about his traumatising divorce from Heather Mills and said that he has been through “a dark place”.Thesun.co.uk reports that the 66-year old McCartney made an honest confession about the split which revealed that he is “a man who needs love”. He is currently dating American heiress Nancy Shevell.

McCartney also revealed that his emotions over the break-up spilled into the recording of his latest album “Electric Arguments”.

He said: “Love and light is mentioned a lot on the album. Parts of it are dark and edgy. It could be because I’ve been through a dark place. I am a man who needs love. Every man needs love, guys like romance. I do anyway.”

Mills won a 24.3 million pound divorce settlement last March after being married to McCartney for six years.

He said: “Things don’t always work out, but I like the idea of being dignified. I don’t think it helps to mouth off all the time.”

He also clarified that he was not involved with actress Rene Zellweger or model Christie Brinkley, saying, “It’s all rumours”.
