BAGHDAD, IRAQ (BNO NEWS) – Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) arrested four suspected terrorists Wednesday, U.S. Forces in Iraq said.

ISF conducted a joint security operation with U.S. advisors in southwestern Baghdad in search of a suspected al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) leader. They searched a residential building for the suspected AQI leader believed to assist in increasing the terrorist group’s membership and pay its members to conduct attacks against the government of Iraq.

Even though the operation did not find the wanted individual, preliminary questioning results and evidence collected during the operation led ISF to arrest four criminal associates of the suspect.

Iraqi and U.S. forces conduct joint operations in accordance with the Security Agreement and in coordination with the Iraqi government to target terrorists seeking to disrupt the security and stability of Iraq.
