Iraq snub turning Prince Harry into a drinking machine?

The young royal has increasing been seen in an inebriated state - the booze binge with the England team following the Rugby World Cup final in Paris, when he and elder brother William celebrated the team’s heroic effort with them, and then the night he ran up a 1,567 pounds bar bill in a Kensington nightclub guzzling round after round of expensive drinks - Krug champagne and Grey Goose vodka.

However, friends think that his drinking is much more than just a 23-year old partying till the wee hours of the morning.

Close observers have noted how there is ’something frenzied’ about the way Harry drinks, and put it down to the time when he was banned from serving in Iraq with his men.

“It was quite dreadful when he was told he couldn’t go with his men to Iraq,” the Daily Mail quoted a royal aide, as saying.

“It meant that all his training was for nothing. I believe that at that moment he felt himself to be entirely worthless.

“In my opinion, it has ruined him. He is a lost soul. And so he drinks. God help him if, at his age, he starts depending on it too much.”

Another added: “There is real fear that if he fails to control it, he could develop a serious drink problem.”

Yet one more source added: “It’s as though he’s trying to reach a plateau of drunkenness as quickly as possible. He never sips his drinks - he gulps them down.” (ANI)
