‘Innocent’ Princess Di’s driver ’set up’ by French authorities, claims book

London, March 15 (ANI): The death of Princess Diana has drawn renewed significance with claims that her driver at the time of the car crash was not drunk as made to believe.
Investigative journalist John Morgan in his new book ‘In Diana Inquest: The Untold Story’ alleges that blood samples to determine chauffeur Henri Paul’s alcohol level were taken from another corpse.
Morgan argues the inquest verdict that Diana and Dodi Fayed were killed in a Paris tunnel by Paul’s negligent driving, adding Parisian investigators set him up while he lay dead in the morgue.
The writer claims to demonstrate “the lengths the French authorities were prepared to go in framing a dead, defenceless, sober and innocent driver”.
“The only evidence that Henri Paul was drunk came from the blood autopsy results, which have since been brought into question,” the Daily Express quoted Morgan as saying.
“When you carefully put all the pieces of this huge complex evidential jigsaw together, you can see this is a dead person who has been framed.
“Were it not so serious, I would say the inquest carried out at the Royal Courts of Justice in London was a joke,” he added. (ANI)
